Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Chaff at deploychaff.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service
Chaff opens randomized product searches in a browser tab to add noise to browsing profiles. It is a protest and novelty tool. It does not encrypt traffic, hide your IP address, anonymize you, or guarantee privacy or security.
Accounts
You may need an account to use paid features. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you sign up.
Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until you cancel. Prices are shown at checkout. You can manage or cancel in the billing portal. Fees already charged are generally non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with notice for future billing periods.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to break the law or harm others
- Abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service or related systems
- Attempt to bypass plan limits, billing, or security controls
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or resell the Service without permission
- Use automated means in ways that violate third-party terms (for example, search engine terms of use)
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these Terms.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties such as authentication (Clerk), payments (Stripe), hosting, and sites opened in your browser (such as Google Search). Those services have their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services.
Intellectual property
Chaff branding, design, and software are owned by us or our licensors. You get a limited, non-exclusive right to use the Service as offered. You do not get ownership of the Service.
Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR EFFECTIVE AT PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $50 IF YOU PAID NOTHING.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms, to the extent allowed by law.
Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes may be noted by updating the date above or by notice in the Service.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your location say otherwise.
